Funky’s Catering has designed menu packages specifically for the Pharmaceutical Industry.  While drug representatives comprise a significant portion of our customer base, we know that the Doctors, Hospital and Office Staff are really our Clients.  In simple terms, “your Clients are really our Clients”.  We know that the quality of our food, the timeliness of our service and the professionalism of our delivery staff provide the opportunity for the drug representatives to maximize their time in front of the doctors.

Funky’s Catering menu options include a wide variety of foods that integrate well in the medical office/hospital setting.  Vegetarian alternatives are available with all menu packages.  Complete menus including drinks and desserts are available, or food can be ordered ala carte.

Funky’s catering has a Rewards Program for all pharmaceutical representatives. Each calendar month we will total your food and beverage purchases. Once you have reached the $250 minimum threshold, Funky’s Catering provides you a credit of 6% of food and beverage purchased for the month.  The credit percentage increases as your spending increases to a maximum of 10% once your monthly food and beverage purchases exceeding $1,000.  Rewards credits can be used toward any future food & beverage catered by us.  Rewards credits can not be used for Funky’s catering Service Staff.

Social Catering

Funky’s Catering is a true custom caterer. Our goal is to understand your vision for your event and to develop a menu and service package to bring your vision to life. We encourage customers to schedule a private tasting at our facility. These meetings allow you to better understand the quality of food we make and it gives us a chance to discuss with you all the details of your event in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.

The menus that follow are designed to give you an idea of the types of food we offer as well as an idea of pricing. These menus are not meant to include everything we can serve at your event. If you have something in mind that you don’t see on our menus, let us know. Our talented and experienced staff is capable of meeting any of your needs.

In addition to the food, Funky’s can help you with china, flatware, linens, tables, chairs and any other needs for your event. If we cannot supply these items ourselves, we have relationships with local rental companies and can help you coordinate with them. The food is an important part of your event but all the other details can be just as important. We try to work with every client to be sure that all aspects of the event blend well together.

We strive to design and execute a creative and memorable event for each client. The menus below are a guide to get started.

Corporate Catering

We understand that the catering needs in the office environment can vary from a few box lunches for a working meeting to a client cocktail reception for a few hundred people and everything in between. Funky’s Catering has the staff, the experience and the expertise to meet your full array of needs.

Our goal is to establish a relationship with each client so that we understand your needs. We know you do not want to explain every detail, every time you place a catering order. From the person taking your order to the person making the delivery, Funky’s strives to develop that relationship to make your ordering experience a little easier and to give you the confidence that the order will be timely and correct every delivery.

Because we are a custom caterer, it is difficult to provide a menu with everything we can provide. Our goal is to design the right menu for each event. The menus below are intended as a guide to help you understand the types of foods we can provide and to give you an idea of pricing.

FAQ’s

Q: Do you have menu packages with pricing for me to choose from?

We do have sample menus with pricing of events we have done in the past that can help you get an idea of cost.  We do not have set menus that you must choose from.  Every event is different and we try to custom design a menu and service package to perfectly fit your event.

Q: How can I be confident in the food I pick for my party?

We encourage all customers to come in for a private tasting if they are deciding whether to use our services or if they are making decisions on a menu.

Q: Can I get a few items from you to go with food I am making for my party?

Yes.  We can do as much as you need for your party.  We can have it ready for you to pick up from us or we can deliver it to you.  Our goal is to help you make  your party a success.

Funky’s Story

Funky’s Catering is a custom caterer developed by Michael “Funky” Forgus. Over the past twenty years Cincinnati has enjoyed the exceptional quality of food and high level of service at Funky’s restaurants. Now those same standards of food and service can be the center of your next event.

As a true custom caterer, we look at each event as an opportunity to design a successful meeting or social gathering for each client. We strive to build a relationship with every customer so that the event you hire us to cater is truly “your” event. Funky’s team is driven by a commitment to customer service. Our goal is for “you to be a guest at your own party”.

Funky’s Catering was developed in June of 2004 with a goal to provide restaurant quality food in a catering environment. Namesake Michael “Funky” Forgus started his Cincinnati hospitality experience in 1985, with Funky’s Blackstone Grille, a fine dining seafood restaurant located in Mt. Lookout. The Blackstone Grille was well known for the BEST quality fresh seafood in Cincinnati. The fish was flown in fresh, heads and tails on, and filleted in a separate walk-in cooler. The Blackstone Grille also featured a “Wine Spectator” award winning wine list. In 1994, Funky’s Blackstone Grille was selected one of four restaurants nationally as a “Paragon of Pinot Noir”, by the Pinot Noir Association of North America.

In 1988 Funky’s Café opened in the Kenwood Towne Centre. Funky’s Café was an instant success. The Café was 40% Deli and 60% contemporary American Cuisine. The six full page menu offered sandwiches, salads, pasta, hardwood grilled meats, chicken and seafood. The corned beef and pastrami were shipped in from the Bronx. A Café favorite was Funky’s Baked Potato Soup, which is offered at Funky’s Catering everyday.

Funky’s Pub, located in Anderson Township, opened in 1990. The Pub, a Township family hang-out, offered a menu very similar to the Café. The Pub featured a large outside deck and live music on the weekends.

The uniquely themed Funky’s Border Cantina opened in 1992. The Cantina menu, which originated in Houston Texas, developed under the supervision of Sam Rosa. Mr. Rosa was the corporate chef for the well known Houston restaurant chain, Ninfa’s. The Cantina offered a variety of Tex-Mex appetizers, entrees and desserts. Several of the Cantina menu selections are offered on the Funky’s Catering web-site.

With Funky’s Catering, Mr. Forgus has combined his restaurant background with co-founders Matthew Brown and James Trent, who have extensive catering and management experience. We believe that you will agree with our motto, “The Proof is in The Pudding”
